About the Artist

Una has lived all around the world and been involved in lots of art disciplines.  She lived in HK until her mid 20’s working for HK’s top art galleries and auction houses and graduated from UEA with a degree in Art History and Architecture. At the weekends and holidays she was a self taught, commissioned  mural painter painting many schools and private homes. Una also lived in the US where she attended courses at the Art Students League and Parsons school of design in New York.  In Dubai, she illustrated 3 top selling children’s books and continued to paint murals for private clients.

Una joined Rachel Davies mosaic membership for a year wherein you have to make a mosaic every month with a group discussion at the end. It rekindled her passion for mosaics and led to her taking an advanced mosaic course in Ravenna with Kokomosaico in 2024. Ravenna changed her mosaic making and understanding of it as an art form. It is a UNESCO world heritage site for Byzantine mosaics and side by side has the most advanced, contemporary and traditional mosaic studios. Unconventional materials with traditional methods hand in hand. It literally blew her mind.

Una intends to go back soon….in the meantime she continues to experiment,  use new materials , improve her practice and bring this fantastic art form to as many people as she can.
