Monday mornings Beginners dressmaking with Jane Makes
There is nothing quite like the pride and joy that comes from making your own clothes! This course with Jane, held over 5 Monday mornings, will help you experience just that.
This course will provide the skills and confidence to begin making your own clothes. There will be demonstrations, sample making, times for one to one help and of course lots of sewing!

Join Susan Denham -Smith from 'Wild Wool Workshops' and craft your own stunning Herdwick Hooked Mat
You will learn the little known craft of Locker Hooking to create a stunning place mat (approx 10inch x 10inch) with Herdwick sheep design and, fittingly, using Herdwick wool from the oldest flocks in the country. The method is similar to that used to make traditional hooked rugs, but with a specially designed, crochet hook-style needle, threaded with linen to fix the design in place.

Made entirely from natural and blended carded wool, of whites, glorious russets and reds, plus some Swaledale for added texture, to create a fine, plumped-up chest and an extra bushy tail, Freddie can grace a very special corner of your home. Annis' instruction and many resources will help you bring this lovely character to life.

Felt Art and Hand Stitch with Marian May
Join felt artist Marian May and create your own piece wet felt Art, then learn to embellish it with stitch
Marian will bring a variety of coloured merino wools, dyed silks, many coloured threads and other fibres used to create a richly textured wool picture. You will learn how to lay out the fibres, blend colours and shapes using wet felting technique. Once the piece is complete Marian will teach the many and various hand stitches she uses in embellishing her work.

'Make a Nuno Felt wool & silk Bag' with Marian May
Design and Make from scratch a Nuno Felt bag using soft wools and sari silks.
In this workshop you will be able to make a handbag-sized bag using merino wool roving and sections of sari silk for embellishment. This technique is known as Nuno felting. You will be working with a foam form as a resist, either cut to your own shape or you can use one that is provided on the day. You will then learn how to build up several layers of wool around this form to create a bag that is created seamlessly in one piece and needs no stitching.

Paint, print and stitch a canvas with Kay Leech
A lovely day with Kay being guided through the process pf creating using paint, then print,and stitch. Working in mixed media you will create a picture based on flowers, you can bring your own image or use one of the ones provided for inspiration.
You will paint the background directly onto calico and then add layers with simple stencils and print blocks that you have created. Finally you will add stitch which can be machine and or hand embroidery and embellish with beads and buttons.
