Paint, Print and Stitch with Kay Leech
Paint, print and stitch a canvas with Kay Leech

A lovely day with Kay being guided through the process of creating using paint, then print,and stitch. Working in mixed media you will create a picture based on flowers, you can bring your own image or use one of the ones provided for inspiration.
You will paint the background directly onto calico and then add layers with simple stencils and print blocks that you have created. Finally you will add stitch which can be machine and or hand embroidery and embellish with beads and buttons.

A fascinating day with Marian learning how to create your own Botanical contact prints with real leaves on fabric and paper, printing your own unique silk scarf and paper prints.
Join Marian for a day of botanical discovery and create a beautiful printed silk scarf using fresh leaves, flowers and natural dyes. You will learn all about the printing process involved, how to prepare fabrics for dyeing with vegetables and flowers and how to choose the leaves that will give good prints. And you will prepare some paper prints which you can finish at home.

An exciting new workshop with the very talented Annis McGowan, making this wonderful large Needle Felted Fox sitting some 16 inches high and looking forward to acting as sentry in your entrance hall!
Made entirely from natural and blended carded wool, of whites, glorious russets and reds, plus some Swaledale for added texture, to create a fine, plumped-up chest and an extra bushy tail, Freddie can grace a very special corner of your home. Annis' instruction and many resources will help you bring this lovely character to life.

Join Ruth Pullan for a day and hand stitch your own leather bag
Unfortunately, Ruth is unable to travel to Cumbria in 2024 - we hope she will return for another of her lovely courses in 2025!
This workshop will give you the basic skills needed for leather work and at the same time you will make yourself a lovely bag using pre cut leather panels carefully prepared by Ruth. There will also be an option to dye the panels various colours using stains provided by Ruth.
