Buying Quirky Open Vouchers
Quirky Open Vouchers have become valued gifts for many of our art and crafts followers. With a comprehensive and carefully chosen range of in- person workshops on offer, recipients can enjoy the choosing of a preferred course, with the promise of a memorable day out to look forward to. With Covid uncertainty on-going, we’ve extended all Open Vouchers; now all those purchased between October 2020 and July 2021 can be used on any course taking place before end of 2022.
Customers tell us they view our Quirky days are real treats to look forward to; and indeed, it's lovely to welcome the many who return time after time. Mornings always start with a warm welcome, fresh coffee and home-made biscuits, whilst we run through the Covid H&S for the day. More coffee later, followed by a two course Aga lunch served carefully to ‘single and distanced’ tables. Later in the day, our farmhouse cream teas are a favourite accompaniment, as you complete your final piece. See the home page for all current Covid measures we have in place. On warmer summer days, lunch is served at single tables in the original Tea Garden.
Greystoke village nestles in rolling countryside on the fringes of the northern Lake District in lovely Cumbria; it’s just a quick 5 miles from Junction 40 of the M6, and offers many B&B options in the village and its environs.
Tell me when?
We've many new 2021 Workshops with spaces, not yet been opened for booking. We'll start taking bookings when we’re confident they will run, just as soon as lock-down restrictions are lifted and we can re-open.
So, to be emailed as soon as your favourite courses become bookable – simply use the relevant icon ‘Tell me when this course becomes bookable’ icon on the ‘Full 2021 Programme’ page and quickly bag your place once the email arrives. Don’t dally though – some courses fill very quickly.
For summer 2021, we'll use each list again when we can add additional dates for a course. So, if you're really keen on one subject but cant make the date shown, it's still the best way to be kept in the loop.
Joining involves no money or obligation to commit, it simply improves your chances of getting a place. Please note: we do have some March- July dates that are reschedules from the first lock down. These may have new availability, as the course date approaches and are also worth signing up to.
Quirky Voucher Covid extensions
We’ve extended the validity of all Quirky Workshop Open Vouchers from number V1960 onwards. Our courses are considered by many as treats of a day out, with a tasty 2 course lunch included and tranquil inspiring surroundings looking out over to Greystoke Castle. Most indoor workshops now take place in the 'Swallow Barn' . . .our new, spacious and airy, 60m2 listed studio. This first floor room allows comfortable spacing of 8-9 tables, along with two staircases, one way traffic where needed, 2 wash hand basins, sanitizing points, an open ceiling providing much natural light from roof windows which also allows a a good natural air flow. It enjoys regular deep cleaning and has received consistently excellent feedback.
In addition, there’s a ‘live stream’ filming of tutor’s demonstrations, projecting all those previous ‘gather round’ moments onto a large screen viewable by students from the safety of their desks throughout the day. Students are asked to stay distanced at all times, wash their hands regularly and bring a mask in the event that closer proximity is necessary.
Once booked, recipients can then look forward to their special treat of a hand picked workshop day. With expert tuition, fresh coffee, home made biscuits, a 2 course Aga lunch and our freshly made scones, jam and cream towards the end of your crafting day, a warm welcome awaits!
