'Mosaics in Silhouette' with Helen Clues

'Mosaics in Silhouette' with Helen Clues

Mosaics in Silhouette' with Helen Clues

Spend a lovely and inspiring day with Helen creating some beautiful mosaic pieces in creams and whites, using a combination of vintage broken crockery  (known as 'picassiette' in the trade) , coloured glass and ceramic tiles.

Under Helen's expert guidance, you will create a beautiful 'silhouttes effect' of birds or trees, (or perhaps something else that would inspire) using creams and white.
You will be exploring the negative spaces created by the contrast with the grout, to create striking designs with this stunning effect, using the combination of broken crockery (known as 'picassiette' in the trade), and Helen's other lovely tiles.

No drawing skills are required for this workshop.

You will complete one mosaic panel during the day and can choose to work on a circular or square base. You will learn the direct method of making mosaics and your piece will be fully finished when you leave. We will focus on cutting and placing the tesserae to create the effective results. Suitable for beginners and experienced students.
