Join Felt artist Marian May and create a piece of wet Felt Art from scratch, before embellishing with Stitch.
A lovely relaxing day laying on the wool fibres to create your design and then mastering the fineries of Stitch, to add texture and detail!
Marian will bring a variety of coloured merino wools, dyed silks, threads and other fibres used to create a richly textured wool picture. You will learn how to lay out the fibres, blend colours, create shapes and then use the wet felting technique which involves warm soapy water, and some rockin’ and rollin’. Come with any references/ ideas you have, use some of Marian's resources, - or bring a photo to work from for inspiration.
In the afternoon Marian will share with you the various techniques for stitching into the felt to define shapes, textures and create further detail . . . there are quite a few techniques to learn! Suitable for all abilities.
