Make a textured Plant Pot in Porcelain with Gwen Bainbridge
A day with this talented ceramics artist to create a unique piece for your favourite pot plant, of approx 5 inches across, but which would look equally effective as a statement in its own right.
Using a combination of lino cut tools to gratifyingly skim across the soft porcelain, as well as various hand carved cutters and stamps (bring your own if you have) and incorporating Gwen's own signature use of textures and patterns you will learn how to create your own beautiful designs whether drawn freehand, layered, pressed or imprinted, and built up in relief for a lovely effect.
You might wish to incorporate pressed flowers and leaves shapes (work best when dried and flat) . Pick and press your flowers to bring carefully on the day within a book. Lavender and daisy, ivy leaves, wild strawberry, small leaved geranium all work well.
Gwen will take the students pots back to her studio to dry out slowly ( to avoid cracking) before firing. Being early March this might take quite a while. Your pots might not be ready until May time for collectiion.
Thurs 20th August 2020 *new date*
Kindly note there will be a materials charge payable directly to the tutor on the day of approx £15 upwards depending on the materials used.. Typically this course runs with 7 -8 students. Suitable for all abilities inc. beginners.
